How We Print Labels Directly On Your Traveling Case

If you are representing a company in your travels, presenting the brand in a sleek and professional manner is important. And we at South-Pak are happy to be one of the few that are able to print labels such as your company's logo directly on your case as seen below.

This is a very unique process and the actual outcome looks even better than it does in the picture above.

The process is intense. We have to flash burn and treat the case with controlled intense heat in order to treat the print work. Again, this label is not a sticker, it's print directly on the case.

If you have questions about this and other services we provide, please check out our website at http://south-pak.com

Why the United States Navy Uses Pink Colored Cases

The simple answer is that in the world of foam, pink means anti-static. At South-Pak, Inc., clients sometimes come to us with very special requests. Controling static electricity is actually pretty simple because we have a product for that, a pink foam. This pink foam, as pictures above is cut normally and turned into an insert with perfectly sized empty space for tools and equipment.

So for the United States Navy, we were happy to custom manufacture the above custom case. It protects valuable taxpayer and Navy equipment and tools, protecting sensetive classified electronics from electrostatic dischage. We also provided an easy identification system for the cases thanks to laser eteched aluminum placards.

If the Navy trusts us to protect their equipment, you can too!

So what are you waiting for? Contact us today and order your custom case solution, with static controlling foam inserts and all.

How we use Computer Aided Design to Create Custom Cases

When we receive a request from a company like Siemens to create a very large amount of cases for their equipment, we talk to them about the problem we're solving and the requirements of the developed case. Does the case need to be water resistant? Does the case need to be light weight? How much equipment does the case need to hold?

This last question is particularly important because often we strive to fit as much equipment as possible into our cases. But still we want to maintain a solution that is organized and managable. Thus, computer aided design, or CAD, allows us to find ways to make the foam interior hold equipment, products, and materials in the most efficient manner possible.

Our designers model the design on the computer, using acurate measurements. Then the drawings are given to our manufacturing process where our engineers turn the drawing into reality. Large machines like our waterjet cutter also use CAD and are able to make very small and very acurate cuts.

As a result of CAD we offer incredibly percise products that work wonders for our clients.

How to Make Your Own Tool Case

If you have a unique set of tools and equipment and you work out in the real world and not in an office, you probably have a case with an unorganized mess of your tools. Turning that around and transforming your pile into a neatly organized collection isn't that hard. All you need is foam.

If you want to do it on your own, trade your equipment onto layers of foam and cut out the area where your tools go. Then layer the foam and glue the layers together. Fit the foam into a box, and that's pretty much it!

Things get more complex if you want to do internal wiring inside your case, if your tools have complex shapes, or if you need to protect your equipment from static electricity. But not to worry, the custom case manufacturer South-Pak is more than happy to live. Feel free to sign on to our website and ask for some help via our live chat.

How To Get Your Logo on a Custom Made Bag or Pouch

These cable pouches above represent the vast array of cases we manufacture at South-Pak but the picture also demonstrates a frequent request we get, a request to put a logo on a product. This is especially common when our clients develop a product that is sold out of a case or when the case is part of an accessories kit used on the road.

We make beautiful case products and we don't mind allowing you to represent your brand with them. We don't use our logo on our product. We allow you to use yours.

We offer high quality embroidery on custom soft cases. This makes a world of difference in the overall appearence. It finishes off a professional look and it helps people make the visual connection between your corporate identity and your physical products.

Impress your customers and intimitdate competitors by sowing off your products in the best possible way. Custom made soft cases for your tools, your equipment, and your products with embroidery of your logo and corporate contact details go a long way. And it's not a very expensive procedure so call us today and reach out to us. Details are on our custom cases website.

How To Maximize the Usable Area in a Bag or Soft Case

We developed custom plastic partiton systems. That means that you can use hard deviders in a soft case or bag allowing you to truely maximize the available space of a bag or soft case. This allows you to organize and sort in the bag. The plastic material also helps protect the contents of the soft case.

Because this is a custom case solution, the number of partitions depends on your needs. We can make as many or as little as you want. The depth depends on you. We can even make layers of pull out trays with devisions so that you can travel and then pull out layers using handles if you need to set everything up around you.

If you need a case like this, please contact us now at sales@south-pak.com or check out our website, http://www.south-pak.com

An Inside Look: Manufacturing Layered Foam for Custom Cases

At South-Pak, your trusted provider of custom cases, we manufacture cases and foam products on site. That means our team of designs take the case from concept all the way to finished products. Let's go over the process:

  1. Consultation
The very first step in the process is a conversation with our clients. We identify their requirements, "does the case need to be waterproof?", "does the case need to support an especially heavy loads?", "does equipment need to be operational and wired from inside the case?". We do our best to understand everyone's needs and priorities.
  2. Material Selection
Based on the requirements, we make a decision about a case exterior and a case interior. Because we stock and service such a wide array of cases from our own brand to Pelican, SKB, Zero, Parket, and others, we able to make a perfect fit for any requirements. If a currently existing product does not fulfill all the needs, that's okay because we have the manufacturing abilities to create a custom case from scratch.
  3. Price Quote
Before we proceed, we communicate a price quote and adjust if needed. As always, we work hard to have a conversation with our customers. We take pride in establishing a very personal relationship between our team and potential clients. We value long-lasting relationships.
  4. Prototype Production
With the price quote in mind, we don't jump the gun. We usually produce a prototype within 48 hours. After that working prototype is delivered, we collect valuable feedback and adjust if needed. Getting a prototype is important because, especially with very large order volumes, we want to get it perfect and eliminate expenses resulted from our mistakes or poor communication.
  5. Prototype Approval
We double check to make sure the prototype matches the requests made during the consultation and meets every specifications.
  6. Full Production
Our expert designers and engineers get work with our state-of-the-art tools such as our Water-jet cutter and superb materials such as our bi-core case exterior material. We work efficiently to fill the order quickly and efficiently.

How To Pitch Your Product or Invention

So you've come up with a grand idea. A gizmo or a product. It's all created and it works and the friends you show it to love it. Now you're ready to go big and pitch your product or invention to investors or potential buys. Here's how you do that:

  1. Look up the largest road shows where the audience you are after attends. This may be a trade-show or a conference. Anywhere where you can set up a booth and talk to as many people within your target demographic. A google search with your audience and industry in the keywords should yield good results. There are also great trade-show resources online such as calendars.
  2. Clear your schedule and start preparing. Rehearse, rehearse, rehearse. Practice makes perfect but more importantly it will allow you to appear more confident in your creation.
  3. Attain a professional display for your presentation. This is where we at South-Pak come in. Presentation is key and we help you travel in a way that allows you to protect your equipment and creation but still allows you to present your product beautifully. We will make you a case with your logo on the case exterior and a neat foam or fabric interior to house your product. Your set up is important because it needs to be able to stand the test of time.
  4. Just do your best and be very persistent. Don't give up, keep traveling. You will likely get many "no"s but don't let it get to you.

Good luck!

And if you have any questions about trade show presentations and product displays, give us a call.

How to fit lots of equipment into a small case when traveling and shipping

Hint: it's all about the case interior.

At South-Pak, we specialize in making lot's of equipment fit in cases maximizing a case's holding capacity. We work to reduce the volume of protective foam but increase its effectiveness.

For example, we made the above case for Siemens for medical equipment. It is a traveling toolkit case with solid partitions, foam blocks, waterjet cut foam, and removable trays. Parts of the case are used out of the case and the parts of the cases double in purpose as seperators and protectors. In this way, we were able to solve the difficult problem of fitting all the equipment into a relatively tiny case and a small amount of space.

If you have questions about problems that you may need a custom case for, please check out our website, right now.

How NOT to prepare your case for travel

It seems like someone thought it would be a good idea to just wrap an old case with duct tape and keep using it that way. This picture makes it look like they did a pretty good job but the sad reality is if they check in that case at the Airport, the case will get kicked around and it will be hit against its every surface. As a result, you can bet the farm that the case will not return to the owner in that condition. Dents and holes are almost a sure thing. But its funny to see someone put in the effort.

Gun Stolen from Case by Baggage Handlers

The Prime Minister of Israel, Mr. Netanyahu, traveled to Washington D.C. recently but weapons brought legally into the country by his body gaurds never made it to Washington.

A bag belonging to officers from Israeli security service Shin Bet - containing four Glock 9-millimeter pistols - was placed on a wrong flight by American Airlines at New York JFK Tuesday, and at least one handgun is still missing, according to several media reports.

Apparently, the case was eventually found but its contents went missing. Media reports don't specify whether the case was locked but if the case was not locked, it is possible to lock hard cases, even cases that you check-in for your flight. You can learn more about TSA Approved locks at our website.

This is just one story about why it's so important to invest in the proper cases to detur theft, protect equipment, and travel with confidence. Whether you need cases for guns, for LCD Screens, or for equipment, please chat with us because South-Pak is your destination.

How to Check-In Locked Bags and Suitcases at the Airport

Due to Transportation Security Administration rules and regulations, airplane passengers are not allowed to check in locked bags nor locked suitcases. This is to allow the TSA to search your bags. If you do check-in a bag with a lock, you are likely to find the bag damaged, if it is even allowed on the plane.

However, sometimes you are checking-in very valuable things and you need to lock your bag. There is still an option. All you need is a TSA Approved Lock.

What are TSA Locks?

TSA Locks feature a combination lock which you set but they feature a hole for a master key. Only the TSA has this master key. This way you can lock your bag and only the TSA can unlock it. Thus, you can rest assured that the content of your case, container, bag, or suitcase is safe.

Where do I order TSA Locks?

You can order TSA Locks at this TSA Lock web-page. Feel free to use the live chat feature to help you select the best TSA lock for your needs.

Announcing the Free Custom Case Giveaway Competition

Happy 4th of July everyone!

Let me ask you a question: What if you could work anywhere and have everything you need ready to go?

At South-Pak, we call this Plug-n-Play. We make these units for the military and big companies like GE and Siemens. The military has communications devices ready to go in their case. We gave them an impenetrable exterior with a custom interior. All they have to do is open it, and the tools and gadgets are plugged in and ready to be used. Now we want to make one for you. FOR FREE. That's right a custom case solution for you, for free.

Here's what one winner will get:

One winner will get an all in one Plug-n-Play solutions for their laptop workstation. This case with the help of your feedback and requests will internally house the connections you need to work on the go. This is perfect for those that travel frequently with lots of equipment like external hard drives, microphones, chargers, headphones, remotes, you name it. It will all be internally wired. It will all be custom built and manufactured. You just have to provide us the dimensions of what you want housed (the laptop and the gadgets you want in the case of course will not be provided). For example, if you're a photographer you could house your camera, charger, and an external hard drive so you can upload pictures out of the same case you use to transport your equipment.

This would be perfect for an Apple Macbook Pro, iPhone, etc. or for camera gear with chargers and a hard drive but here are some other examples:

How do I get my free custom case?

  1. Email us at freecustomcasegiveaway@south-pak.com with your name and the web address of your blog (if don't have one, just go to www.posterous.com). We will email you back with a special link.

  3. Feel free to post your writing online with the link, on Facebook anywhere and in as many places as you like.
  4. Ask your friends and readers to click on your link. We will use the link to track how many visitors to our website you bring us. Whoever gets their link clicked on the most, will win.
